Monnaie de Paris celebrates the 25th anniversary of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings cinematic trilogy with a collection of silver and gold coins minted in 2026. Launched in two distinct waves, it features iconic characters, places, and objects from the Tolkien universe.

Context and Release Dates

Announced in March 2026 to mark the quarter-century of the films released from 2001, this collection is engraved by the artisans of Monnaie de Paris, faithful to Peter Jackson's visions. Wave 1 was released on March 23, 2026, while Wave 2 is scheduled for September 14, 2026. Proof (BE) versions will arrive in May 2026 for premium coins.

€10 Silver Coins

Eighteen €10 coins in 333‰ silver (Ø 31 mm, 13 g, 50,000 copies each) cover the three films, with 9 designs per wave. Released on March 23, 2026 for Wave 1 (Frodo and Sam, Fellowship of the Ring, Gandalf vs. Balrog, Gollum, Merry/Pippin and Treebeard, Théoden at Helm's Deep) and on September 14 for Wave 2 (Saruman/Palantír, Legolas/Gimli, Éowyn vs. Witch-King, Frodo/Ring, Aragorn/Arwen).
