Gollum movie planned for 2026

Lord of the Rings fans are in for a shock ⚡️

Warner Bros. Studios CEO David Zaslav has announced the upcoming release of a Gollum film titled "The Hunt For Gollum," directed by Andy Serkis and supervised by Peter Jackson. The feature film will be written by Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, who also wrote the original Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogy.

While the last live action film in the franchise dates back to 2014, it is clear that the studios' desire is to relaunch the franchise with numerous projects in the years to come.

Let us recall that 2024 will be a rich year for the Lord of the Rings universe with in particular the release of season 2 of "The Rings of Power" on Amazon, as well as the animated film "The War of Rohirrim" which is scheduled for release in December in theaters.
